Woke up this morning and headed to the basement. We had enough cardboard boxes full of stuff for it to be difficult to get it all out in one shot. Lifted the first box, only to have it dump everywhere. On further inspection, every box that made direct contact with the floor has become damp, rotted, and growing mushrooms in a couple cases. This SUCKS! I'm looking into renting a dumpster and I will likely need to call out some friends to get this basement cleared out. On top of everything else I started cleaning up the plants in my tank today, and noticed my water was frigid and my blue gourami was in trouble. Somehow the heater got unplugged, not sure how it happened, but it's been at max a day. It's back on now and hopefully the gourami snaps back. No other losses.
The basement will keep getting bleach treatments, and the dehumidifier is a permanent fixture now. This is all because National Fuel has a gas shed within 3 feet of my house with no gutters. The wall on the same side as their shed is the only wall that leaks water when it rains, and it's starting to bow. This is a nightmare, but the project moves on. How people survive when even utility companies walk all over you is beyond me.
Another contact attempt is being made:
That's it for now. Stay tuned for project updates!
